Job description
Overview
This position acts as the key financial liaison for merchant-related operations, handling payout processes, settlements, and reconciliations. You will collaborate extensively with multiple departments including Product, Sales, Legal, Risk, and Compliance to address finance and system challenges and ensure merchants are paid accurately and promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Function as the central finance contact for merchant financial operations.
- Work collaboratively across teams to resolve operational and technical finance issues.
- Clarify and communicate financial details regarding payout logic, settlement models, and merchant configurations to internal stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation, validation, and reconciliation of merchant payouts, including fees, VAT, and offsets using internal platforms, ERP systems, and bank records.
- Coordinate with banks and payment partners to resolve any transfer failures, delays, or reversals to ensure proper payout execution.
- Contribute to launching new payout structures, market expansions, or financial workflows from a FinOps perspective.
- Help develop internal documents, FAQs, and training content to support the financial operations team.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and support their implementation for better accuracy and efficiency.
- Participate in month-end closing activities and assist during internal and external audits.
- Perform additional tasks necessary to maintain smooth financial operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- 1 to 3 years experience in Financial Operations, Payments, Accounting, or FinTech sectors.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite and advanced Microsoft Excel skills for managing large datasets and reconciliations.
- Familiarity with CRM or ticketing systems is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and precision.
- Effective communication skills capable of simplifying complex financial concepts.
- Experience collaborating within cross-functional, data-driven teams.
- Self-driven, accountable approach with the ability to manage pressure.
- Adaptability to fast-moving, entrepreneurial settings and shifting priorities.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts that meet team and individual needs.
