About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Financial Services Tax Manager to join an expanding tax advisory team. The successful candidate will oversee a portfolio of clients within the financial services sector and provide expert corporate and international tax counsel across various industries including banking, insurance, investment management, funds, asset management, and fintech.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the management of financial services tax client portfolios, serving as the primary contact for daily tax-related issues.
- Deliver corporate and international tax advice tailored to banks, insurers, asset managers, investment funds, fintech companies, and other financial entities.
- Provide guidance on Irish corporation tax, international taxation, and sector-specific tax matters.
- Manage corporation tax compliance processes, tax provisioning, and reporting obligations.
- Advise on a range of transactions including acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, and financing agreements.
- Support clients in navigating OECD BEPS, Pillar Two/Global Minimum Tax initiatives, and other evolving international tax regulations.
- Offer expertise on withholding taxes, double taxation treaties, and cross-border tax structures.
- Contribute tax insights during M&A activities such as due diligence and deal structuring.
- Assist clients with Revenue queries, audits, and regulatory interventions.
- Stay abreast of changes in Irish, EU, and international tax legislation impacting the financial services sector.
- Collaborate with specialists in Transfer Pricing, VAT, International Tax, M&A, and Financial Services Advisory.
- Review and supervise work completed by junior tax team members ensuring quality client service delivery.
- Effectively manage multiple projects, budgets, and deadlines concurrently.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders including Tax Directors, CFOs, and Finance Directors.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a professional tax qualification such as CTA/AITI, ACA, ACCA or an equivalent certification.
- Extensive experience in Corporate Tax or Financial Services Tax, preferably gained within a Big 4, Top 10, or comparable professional services setting.
- Solid understanding of Irish corporation tax legislation.
- Exposure to clients in banking, insurance, funds, asset management, or broad financial services sectors.
- Familiarity with international tax matters, transactional work, transfer pricing, or Pillar Two frameworks is advantageous.
- Demonstrates strong technical acumen and analytical abilities.
- Excellent skills in client relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to simplify complex tax issues into clear, commercially-relevant advice.
- Experience in managing and mentoring junior tax professionals.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
