Leadership is accessible, individuals are encouraged to take initiative, and there's genuine respect for those who are proactive, question norms, and complete tasks efficiently.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this role offers responsibility for financial reporting, controls, and compliance across New Zealand and Australia.

Leading a team of four, you will ensure the precision and integrity of financial data, guarantee timely month-end closings, and supervise the daily financial activities of a progressing business.

Role Details

This is an active leadership position emphasizing technical accounting, financial oversight, and reporting. You will be pivotal in maintaining current objectives and progressively enhancing the company’s financial processes, systems, and governance.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification with a minimum of five years of post-qualification experience.
  • Extensive technical expertise in financial accounting, reporting, auditing, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring finance teams or demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
  • A collaborative, pragmatic, and hands-on work style, capable of constructive challenge and delivering impactful results.

Candidate Profile

You are a technically proficient, commercially minded individual who is detail-oriented and confident in leadership roles. Candidates may come from senior management positions in Big Four or mid-tier accounting firms or have been finance or financial reporting managers in growing, evolving companies. The ideal candidate adapts comfortably to structure-light settings, makes informed decisions, finds practical solutions, and inspires colleagues.

What’s Offered

  • A supportive and approachable leadership team with an engaged finance group.
  • Opportunities to shape financial reporting, controls, and processes in a growing trans-Tasman business.
  • Flexible start and finish times within an office-based work setting.
  • Benefits including complimentary on-site parking, frequent team lunches, and a vibrant social atmosphere.
