Job description

About Tabby

Tabby is committed to empowering individuals with better control over their finances. Traditional financial systems have often prioritized institutions over users, leading to barriers such as high interest, opaque terms, and restricted access. Tabby aims to revolutionize this by creating a comprehensive money app for sending, spending, and saving that is transparent, adaptable, and prioritizes users and businesses. Founded in 2019, Tabby serves customers and businesses in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Kuwait, supporting millions of users and over 65,000 global brands and government services.

Role Overview

As a Financial Reporting Lead, you will play a crucial role in managing finance operations within the Saudi Arabia entity. Your responsibilities will encompass ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory authorities, and upholding solid financial governance. This role includes overseeing statutory reporting, tax compliance, treasury functions, audits, and internal controls while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable business growth and support new product launches. You will also contribute to building a scalable finance organization in one of Tabby’s fastest-growing markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close for KSA, targeting completion within three days after period-end, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Draft IFRS financial statements incorporating local SOCPA adjustments along with detailed supporting schedules and reconciliations.
  • Apply IFRS standards—especially IFRS 9, 15, and 16—and SOCPA guidelines accurately, documenting accounting positions comprehensively.
  • Manage filings for ZATCA including Corporate Income Tax, Zakat, VAT, Withholding Tax, and CTDF, alongside SAMA regulatory and prudential returns, ensuring alignment with financial statements.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and safeguard the accuracy of the general ledger.
  • Contribute to provisions and expected credit loss (ECL) calculations on customer and merchant receivables under IFRS 9.
  • Collaborate with external auditors by preparing audit-ready financials with complete documentation and serving as a primary point of contact on reporting issues.
  • Enhance internal control mechanisms, manage reconciliations, and ensure segregation of duties within reporting processes.
  • Support treasury and settlement reports and associated reconciliations, including bank accounts and merchant settlements.
  • Assist with intercompany transactions and transfer pricing reports in coordination with Group Tax.
  • Drive continuous process improvements and support Oracle NetSuite ERP reporting, data accuracy, and automation efforts.
  • Mentor junior members of the finance team and review their outputs for quality assurance.
  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, Product, and Operations teams to ensure finance preparedness for new product rollouts such as wallet services, Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), cards, remittances, and loyalty/cashback programs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Between 4 to 6 years of experience in financial reporting, statutory reporting, or external audit, preferably within fintech, banking, or Big 4 accounting firms.
  • In-depth technical expertise in IFRS standards, especially IFRS 9, 15, and 16, and familiarity with SOCPA/local accounting principles.
  • Competent in Saudi tax legislative requirements including Zakat, Corporate Income Tax, VAT, and Withholding Tax.
  • Practical experience preparing IFRS financial statements adjusted for local needs and managing month-end closing processes.
  • Proven experience supporting statutory audits and regulatory filings with authorities such as ZATCA and SAMA.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or SOCPA preferred, whether completed or underway.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel; experience with ERP systems—preferably Oracle NetSuite—is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive ownership attitude.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic.

Benefits and Work Environment

  • A work culture that fosters autonomy and delivers significant responsibility from the outset.
  • Opportunities where the quality of your work directly influences your career progression.
  • Access to the company's employee stock option program.
  • Comprehensive health insurance coverage.
  • Flexible perks program providing a monetary allowance which you can allocate towards wellness, education, professional growth, or travel.
