Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned and commercially astute Financial Accountant to oversee the daily finance operations and deliver accurate financial insights that guide business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and scrutinize monthly management accounts, including Profit and Loss statements and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Develop cash flow forecasts, annual budgets, and financial projections.
• Lead, supervise, and support the finance team within the company.
• Provide timely and clear financial information to inform commercial and operational choices.
• Gather, analyze, investigate, and report financial data, highlighting critical trends and variances.
• Ensure accuracy and upkeep of Sales, Purchases, Bank, Stock, Payroll, and General Ledgers.
• Compile and submit PAYE, VAT, and other Revenue returns punctually and accurately.
• Assist with year-end audits and support the preparation of statutory financial statements.
• Maintain robust financial controls and ensure adherence to company policies and statutory regulations.
• Collaborate closely with senior management and various departments across the organisation.
• Contribute to accounting, finance, and business process improvement initiatives as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent qualification.
• Professional accreditation such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or similar.
• Proven experience in preparing management accounts and financial statements.
• Background in managing or leading a finance team.
• Strong knowledge of financial controls, accounting procedures, and Revenue compliance.
• Experience in retail or multi-location business environments is advantageous.
• Familiarity with SAP software preferred.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
