Finance Operations Accountant

About the Role

Cargosrate invites an experienced Finance Operations Accountant to join their Riyadh team. This role involves overseeing daily finance tasks on the platform such as invoicing, collections, payables, supplier payments, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The accountant will collaborate with Operations to guarantee every shipment's billing, costing, collection, settlement, reconciliation, and gross profit reporting is accurate and timely.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle daily accounting and financial activities for the platform.
• Issue and verify customer invoices ensuring shipments are billed correctly and punctually.
• Manage Accounts Receivable tasks including statements, collections, credit limits, and overdue amounts.
• Oversee Accounts Payable including vendor bills, supplier statements, payment timelines, and partner settlements.
• Reconcile shipments and bookings with supplier costs, customer invoices, collections, and payments.
• Ensure the accuracy of revenue, costs, margins, and gross profits per shipment; resolve discrepancies swiftly.
• Manage financial adjustments such as credit/debit notes, refunds, and perform bank reconciliations.
• Prepare consistent reports on revenue, gross profit, receivables, payables, collections, and cash flow.
• Detect missing charges, incorrect costs, unmatched payments, or revenue leaks and address them promptly.
• Collaborate with Operations, Management, and Technology teams on all finance-related issues.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines.
• Over 4 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance operations.
• Comprehensive hands-on experience with Odoo Accounting, including customer invoices, vendor bills, AR/AP, payments, bank reconciliations, credit notes, statements, and payment matching.
• Broad knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, and supplier payment management.
• Good grasp of accounting principles, financial control mechanisms, cost management, and gross profit calculation.
• Familiarity with Saudi VAT regulations and ZATCA electronic invoicing requirements.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and financial report preparation.
• Strong analytical, follow-up, problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills in both Arabic and English, written and spoken.
• Must be Riyadh-based and available for full-time on-site work immediately.

Preferred Experience

• Background in freight forwarding, logistics, air or ocean cargo, or transportation sectors.
• Expertise in shipment-level costing and profitability analysis.
• Experience in B2B marketplaces, SaaS, FinTech, or technology-driven companies.
• Exposure to startup or fast-paced growth company environments.
