Job description

About the Role

The Bureau of Meteorology seeks a dedicated and proactive Finance Officer to join their financial operations team. This position involves delivering financial and administrative support to diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing Card, and Travel Finance functions.
  • Contribute to customer-focused service delivery across various financial departments.
  • Adapt and implement changes as the finance division undergoes significant transformation.
  • Support continuous process improvement and best practice applications in procure-to-pay processing.
  • Manage invoice generation and dispatch to customers and handle purchasing card reconciliation.

Requirements and Skills

  • Familiarity with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act 2013.
  • Experience using SAP financial software and SAP Concur for travel and expense management.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to thrive in a changing environment and deliver improvements in financial processes.
