Job Purpose
The Finance Manager role involves overseeing a robust accounting and financial reporting system and ensuring operational controls to protect assets, boost profitability, and minimize risks. This role leads key shared service finance functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Income and Night Audits, Credit Management, Bank Reconciliations, and Fixed Assets including intercompany transactions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle finance shared services including transaction processing, audits, reconciliations, and credit management ensuring compliance with policies and timelines.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in daily cash, bank, revenue, receivables, payables, and balance sheet activities, escalating urgent matters when needed.
- Lead accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings encompassing accruals and intercompany balances.
- Monitor financial metrics, cash flows, and payment behaviors to highlight risks and opportunities to management.
- Review and prepare financial reports, variance analyses, management updates, and KPI presentations for stakeholders.
- Utilize advanced analytical tools including Excel, Power BI and financial modeling to support forecasting and decision-making.
- Supervise income auditing, revenue controls, daily cash and bank reconciliations ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of issues.
- Manage credit facilities, compliance, risk exposure, and aging balances while maintaining customer relationships.
- Maintain strong internal controls, ensuring audit readiness and compliance with statutory and corporate policies.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance financial operations efficiency and accuracy.
- Communicate regularly with leadership, owners, auditors, and internal departments to support and resolve finance-related matters.
- Lead, mentor and develop the finance team to foster accountability, excellence, and collaboration.
- Support the Director of Finance in financial planning, audits, reporting, and stakeholder communication.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Preferred professional qualifications: ACCA, CPA, CMA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Between 5 and 7 years of finance experience, ideally within hospitality, shared services or managing multi-property operations.
- In-depth understanding of accounting standards, financial reporting, internal control systems, and hotel finance operations.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI, ERP systems, hotel PMS, and accounting software is advantageous.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to manage pressure, meet deadlines, and balance multiple priorities across departments.
