Finance Director

Overview

We are partnering with a well-established Coventry-based company to recruit a Finance Director who will be part of the Senior Management Team. This pivotal role involves overseeing the company's financial health, working closely with the CEO and other senior leaders. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with a commercial mindset, capable of analyzing detailed financial data while maintaining a strategic perspective to guide the business forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the company’s financial strategy, including budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Oversee cash flow, working capital management, and financial reporting activities.
• Provide transparent and insightful financial information to support decision-making by the CEO and senior management.
• Contribute to business planning and evaluate critical commercial choices.
• Identify opportunities to enhance profitability, improve margins, and increase efficiency.
• Maintain strong financial controls, governance, compliance, and risk management systems.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, audit, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate closely with operational and commercial divisions of the company.
• Develop financial models and run scenario analyses to facilitate strategic decisions.
• Lead and nurture an experienced finance team.
• Manage external relationships with auditors, professional advisers, and other stakeholders.
• Support the CEO in business transformation initiatives, growth projects, and strategic endeavors.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accreditation.
• Significant senior finance experience, ideally at or ready for a Finance Director level.
• Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial planning.
• In-depth understanding of financial controls, governance, compliance, audit, tax, and risk frameworks.
• Commercially astute with the ability to interpret financial data beyond the numbers.
• Effective communicator capable of explaining finance concepts to non-financial colleagues.
• Confident in engaging and challenging senior stakeholders.
• Proven experience in leading and developing finance teams.
• Proactive, well-organized, and comfortable with taking full ownership of responsibilities.
• Skilled in identifying and implementing process improvements to boost efficiency and business outcomes.

Additional Information

This position offers an outstanding opportunity to influence the company's direction beyond traditional financial reporting, working closely with executive leadership. The salary range is £90,000 to £100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
