About the Role and Organization
This opportunity is based at Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara, part of Anantara Hotels & Resorts, a renowned global luxury hotel and resort brand inspired by Thai culture and hospitality. Since its inception in 2001, Anantara has grown internationally, providing distinguished guest experiences across exquisite locations worldwide.
The Finance Coordinator position plays a crucial role in supporting the Finance Department by ensuring proper handling of financial transactions, recordkeeping, reporting, and administrative coordination. This role contributes directly to budget management, accounts processing, reconciliations, and compliance with internal policies, all while maintaining confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process invoices, purchase orders, expense claims, and payment requests.
- Support accounts payable and receivable operations efficiently.
- Keep financial records meticulously updated along with valid documentation.
- Verify the accuracy of financial transactions in line with company policies.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
- Conduct bank, supplier, and account reconciliations.
- Track outstanding and overdue payments, facilitating follow-ups as needed.
- Assist in closing activities at month-end and year-end.
- Aid in monitoring departmental budgets, tracking expenses, and flagging cost variances.
- Contribute to cost control strategies by maintaining precise financial data.
- Prepare financial summaries and management reports.
- Organize financial document filing systems and coordinate interdepartmental finance requests.
- Support audit preparations by assembling necessary documentation.
- Ensure adherence to company financial standards and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive financial information.
- Help implement internal controls and support compliance with local regulations and company benchmarks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in finance, accounting, or administrative roles is advantageous.
- Hospitality industry experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and broader Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial report preparation.
- Numerical aptitude coupled with analytical approach.
- Meticulous attention to details promoting accuracy.
- Effective organizational and time management capabilities.
- High ethical standards to safeguard confidential data.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Competence in prioritizing work and meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Experience
- Competence in preparing financial reports and completing account reconciliations.
- Proven experience processing invoices and payment submissions.
- Familiarity with budgeting and cost control methodologies.
- Exposure to a fast-paced hospitality work environment is considered beneficial.
