About the Role

As a Finance Business Partner based in Melbourne, you will play a critical role supporting commercial decisions by managing multi-entity, multi-currency finances across diverse jurisdictions. This role is embedded within the Commercial Finance team and requires balancing strategic insights with detailed financial modelling, empowering the business to make informed investment, pricing, and market expansion choices.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the Group's annual budget and quarterly forecasts, creating integrated profit & loss, cash flow, and operating driver models that are both precise and user-friendly.
• Own monthly commercial and executive financial reporting, providing clear variance analysis and actionable recommendations.
• Monitor and report on headcount, operational expenditure, and capital expenditure against plans, identifying risks and potential opportunities promptly.
• Act as a trusted financial advisor to business unit leaders by critically evaluating investment proposals and new initiatives prior to decision-making.
• Analyze returns on pricing strategies, promotions, marketing campaigns, and support vendor negotiations through financial benchmarking.
• Develop prioritization models for countries and markets, and incorporate complexities such as license fees, gaming duties, taxes, and compliance costs across different jurisdictions.
• Produce unit economics and market profitability analyses that guide decisions on market entry, investment, and exit.
• Collaborate with the Data and Analytics team to develop reporting tools and dashboards, as well as lead automation efforts to minimize manual reporting work.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 4 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), commercial finance, or business partnering roles.
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional accounting certification such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), or nearing completion.
• Strong financial modelling and data analysis expertise, including advanced Excel capabilities and working knowledge of SQL.
• Experience utilizing business intelligence and data visualization tools like Power BI, Databricks, or equivalents for building reports and dashboards.
• Proven aptitude for collaborating with non-finance colleagues and simplifying financial concepts into easily understandable language.
• Excellent written communication skills, with experience preparing executive-level commentary and analyses.
• Comfortable managing finance matters across multiple corporate entities, currencies, and jurisdictions within an agile, fast-growing environment.
• Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to prioritize strategically significant issues.

Desirable Skills

• Exposure to iGaming, sports betting, cryptocurrency, or online entertainment industries, particularly metrics related to gaming revenue.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and handling large datasets.
• Proficiency in Python or similar scripting for data automation and analysis.
• Background working in regulated or licensed environments.
• Experience with spend management, procurement processes, or corporate card platforms.
