Job description
Role Overview
Are you eager to leverage financial expertise to actively influence business outcomes instead of merely reporting past results? Skyline Enterprises invites an experienced Finance Business Partner to join its Group Finance team based in Queenstown. This role supports a diverse portfolio of tourism-related businesses across New Zealand and internationally. Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, you will collaborate closely with General Managers and operational leaders to analyze performance trends, identify risks and opportunities, and translate operational and financial data into actionable business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to General Managers and operational teams within your assigned portfolio.
- Deliver insightful commercial analysis focused on revenue, yield, margins, productivity, and cost management.
- Lead monthly performance review meetings, highlighting emerging risks, opportunities, and necessary actions.
- Own budgeting, operating plans, and forecasting processes in partnership with business units.
- Question existing assumptions to enhance forecast accuracy and drive accountability.
- Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analyses to evaluate different business options and trade-offs.
- Translate complex financial and operational metrics into clear, pragmatic recommendations.
Candidate Profile
- Possess approximately five or more years of commercial finance, financial management, or business partnering experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing business performance.
- Comfortable engaging directly with senior operational stakeholders to influence decision-making.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to delve beyond numbers to understand the underlying business drivers.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel coupled with experience using ERP systems and business intelligence or reporting tools.
- Aptitude for leveraging data to uncover commercial opportunities and influence strategic actions.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, or business disciplines.
Additional Information
This role balances hands-on financial tasks with strategic commercial insight, emphasizing proactive influence over retrospective reporting. Skyline offers a unique opportunity to work with businesses spread across New Zealand, Singapore, Canada, and Korea, all while being based in the vibrant setting of Queenstown. As the company expands internationally, the finance team is also evolving, allowing you to contribute to shaping finance's role within the wider organization.
