Job description
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as a key financial advisor to various business units by delivering insightful financial analysis and guidance to improve decision-making and boost financial outcomes.
- Partner with business unit leaders to create and oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial plans that are in harmony with company-wide goals.
- Develop and review business cases in line with MEEZA’s profitability standards and IFRS compliance, tracking performance through production lines and conducting post-investment evaluations.
- Assist the Financial Operations team by ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and providing support when needed.
- Perform detailed financial analyses and business unit performance assessments, identifying trends, potential risks, and opportunities while recommending strategies to optimize results.
- Contribute to the preparation of forecasts, budgets, and business plans, and continuously monitor actual outcomes against targets.
- Authorize purchase requests (PRs) and release purchase orders (RPOs), ensuring they comply with approved budgets or business cases.
- Deliver financial modeling and scenario analyses supporting strategic initiatives and investment assessments by evaluating possible returns and associated risks.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly performance reports for the entire company, sales departments, ITS, BOPs, and support functions, including analytical commentary comparing budget forecasts and year-on-year performance.
- Design and maintain key performance indicators and dashboards for assigned business units to facilitate effective monitoring and reporting to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with Strategic Alliances and Procurement teams to confirm the correct procurement processes are followed and to help meet business cost optimization objectives.
- Work cross-functionally with units such as operations, sales, and marketing to grasp business drivers, evaluate financial impacts, and offer valuable insights for decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to the company’s policies, procedures, and Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) requirements.
- Take part in evaluating new business opportunities involving mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic investments by conducting financial due diligence and analysis.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting certification mandatory (CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Eight to ten years of professional experience in Finance Business Partnering or Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A).
Skills and Competencies
- Exceptional skills in financial analysis and forecasting, capable of interpreting intricate financial data and communicating clearly.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial management principles, budgeting techniques, and financial reporting standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to foster collaboration across departments, build solid relationships, and provide financial leadership at all organizational levels.
- Proficient in financial modeling with advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel.
- High competency in Microsoft PowerPoint for creating presentations.
