About the Opportunity

Join Auckland Council as a Finance Business Partner where your expertise will be crucial in delivering precise, timely financial advice that supports operational decisions and enhances business performance in the transport and infrastructure division. This permanent full-time role is located in central Auckland with flexible working arrangements and offers a salary ranging from $91,027 to $107,000 plus KiwiSaver contribution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain strong collaborative relationships with business leaders and finance colleagues to achieve organizational objectives.
• Lead and manage the budgeting, forecasting, and planning activities for assigned departments or business units.
• Produce high-quality financial reports and insightful analyses to inform decision-making.
• Serve as a trusted advisor by challenging and supporting the adoption of sound financial practices throughout the organization.
• Comprehend key business drivers, proactively identify risks and opportunities, and propose solutions.
• Guide and enhance financial understanding among non-finance personnel to build capability across teams.

About You

We seek a highly motivated and commercially minded Finance Business Partner with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a collaborative approach. Successful candidates should have:

• A tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience in finance partnering or commercial finance roles.
• Strong understanding of financial frameworks.
• The ability to interpret complex data into actionable insights.
• A proactive attitude with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
