Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive Finance Business Analyst to join our high-performance Decision Support team. This position involves managing financial planning, reporting, and analysis while taking ownership of data, models, and processes underlying these reports. The role offers opportunity for growth into business partnering and more strategic commercial work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support annual business planning, quarterly forecasting, and monthly management reporting activities.
- Develop reports and analyses that support effective financial oversight and decision-making.
- Collaborate with multiple business units including sales, marketing, and value streams.
- Respond to ad hoc analysis requests with curiosity, initiative, and meticulous attention to detail, even when instructions are not fully defined.
- Maintain and enhance the integrity of data, models, and reporting processes.
- Driven by continuous improvement, proactively identify opportunities to streamline and automate processes reducing manual effort.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce, finance, economics, or a related field.
- Experience as a finance analyst or in a similar role with knowledge of general ledger operations, budgeting, and financial planning cycles.
- Practical involvement in budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes.
- Advanced Excel aptitude with strong data analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with sales and marketing functions is advantageous though not mandatory.
- Ability and enthusiasm for learning new technologies; experience with TechnologyOne, Power BI, or SQL is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working dynamically with initiative to progress tasks without always having complete information upfront.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and manage shifting tasks effectively.

This role requires working on-site in Auckland and is not available for remote candidates.
