Primary Role and Responsibilities
- Execute a broad array of financial and administrative functions ensuring adherence to UN Women’s financial rules, policies, and approved budgets.
- Collaborate closely with Programme and Operations Teams locally and at headquarters to address complex finance-related matters and ensure accurate and timely financial service delivery.
- Review and verify financial transactions and documentation, report irregularities, and implement needed corrective measures.
- Monitor and investigate unusual financial activities and prepare detailed status and expenditure reports.
- Support audit processes and ensure timely implementation of audit recommendations.
- Assist in budget planning, tracking expenditures, preparing budget revisions, and maintaining cost control mechanisms.
- Manage project financials including budget creation, monitoring, unutilized funds analysis, and project award reviews within financial management systems like Quantum.
- Handle daily financial operations such as transaction recording, payroll processing, travel claims, and petty cash management.
- Support resource mobilization by compiling donor information, drafting cost-sharing agreements, and following up on contributions.
- Conduct or coordinate training sessions on financial management best practices and contribute to knowledge sharing within the Office.
- Perform other duties as required to ensure the efficient functioning of the Finance Office and UN Women organizational goals.

Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of secondary education is mandatory; a bachelor’s in finance or accounting is advantageous.
- Specialized certificates in accounting and finance are considered assets.
- Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience in finance is required.
- Proficient with computer software such as MS Word, Excel, database packages, and web-based management systems.
- Experience with modern ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in French is essential.
- Knowledge of additional official UN languages such as English, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish is preferred.
