Job description
Role Overview
As a Field Service Engineer, your responsibilities encompass supporting maintenance, outages, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairs for gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and related auxiliary systems. You will ensure that projects are executed safely, efficiently, and with high quality, collaborating tightly with field teams, site management, engineering specialists, and customers. This role offers hands-on technical experience and leadership development opportunities across power generation projects both within Saudi Arabia and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, commissioning, repairs, assembly, and disassembly of gas and steam turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment.
- Lead and coordinate small to medium-sized teams consisting of field service staff, technicians, and subcontractors during outages and maintenance operations.
- Partner with Site Leads, Service Engineering teams, and clients to guarantee safe and successful execution of projects.
- Examine technical documentation, participate in customer meetings, draft service reports, and provide technical advice and project status updates.
- Support outage planning by managing resource allocation, mitigating risks, and overseeing spare parts and tooling needs, while upholding quality, safety, and environmental health standards.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 2–3 years’ experience in field service, power generation, heavy industry, or rotating equipment fields.
- Fundamental understanding of power plant operations, including turbines and generator auxiliary systems, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with demonstrated leadership potential and competence in preparing technical reports and project documents.
- Preparedness to travel extensively, roughly 80% within Saudi Arabia and internationally, and adapt to demanding outage schedules and shift work.
- Experience or exposure to steam turbines, gas turbines, generators, outage execution, and industrial energy projects; familiarity with Siemens Energy standards is advantageous.
