This position offers a dynamic mix of outdoor and office duties based in Bendigo, with a full-time ongoing engagement. The salary range for this role is $72,189 to $79,753 plus superannuation.

Organization Overview

Community Work and Partnerships focuses on creating collaborative relationships with governmental and non-governmental agencies. Its mission is to facilitate individuals in completing court-ordered unpaid community work, aiding their rehabilitation and reintegration into society. This work serves to keep low-risk individuals out of prison and assists them in contributing positively to their communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee groups of clients performing community work assignments at various locations.
• Conduct site visits and hazard assessments.
• Provide workplace health and safety guidance and instructions.
• Maintain registers of tools and equipment, ensuring timely repairs.
• Transport clients safely using company vehicles, including a 12-seater bus with trailer.

A typical workday involves starting at the Justice Service Centre to collect equipment, then travelling to pick up clients, conducting inductions and instructions, supervising tasks such as graffiti removal, painting, litter collection, mowing, and weeding at partner non-profit organisations. After supervision, clients are transported back and equipment returned to the depot.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Effective communication with the ability to demonstrate and supervise a variety of tasks safely.
• Solid understanding and application of Occupational Health and Safety practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills to quickly establish rapport and assess individual motivations and needs.
• Competence in managing conflict and resolving problems.
• Capability to model positive behavior and foster skill and workplace practice development among clients.
• Trade skills, such as carpentry, handyman capabilities, gardening, landscaping, or painting.
• Proficiency in computer use and written communication due to mingled field and office work.
• Valid full driver's license necessary for driving specialized vehicles.
