About the Role
We seek a skilled and adaptable Maintenance Operative to join our team, delivering essential repair and upkeep services across our care homes and other facilities. This role involves both scheduled and emergency maintenance tasks in areas such as carpentry, plumbing, plastering, painting, basic electrical work, and gardening for locations in the Bedford and Milton Keynes areas.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and complete all general maintenance and repair tasks within our homes.
- Collaborate with the wider maintenance team to address additional maintenance needs as they arise.
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety standards and promptly escalate any concerns to management.
- Availability to work one Saturday every six weeks as part of the work schedule.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven expertise in general maintenance with high-quality workmanship.
- Proficient in plastering, building repairs, and decorating for comprehensive property upkeep.
- Basic plumbing skills with practical knowledge.
- Effective communication skills to interact across all organization levels.
- Competent in the safe operation of power hand tools and bench tools.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Comfortable using IT systems; experience with Jira or similar job management tools preferred.
- Possession of a full driving license with flexibility to travel between sites.
