Role Overview
The FHE Refueler Mechanic is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, preservation, and restoration of all U.S. Air Force Fuels Support Equipment (FSE) and associated vehicle assets, ensuring strict adherence to USAF mandated standards and Amentum's ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly targets for equipment reconstitution, preservation, and inspection activities.
- Conduct Limited Technical Inspections (LTI) on incoming assets following established protocols.
- Ensure repairs on all USAF fuel assets are carried out using the most cost-effective methods.
- Prioritize tasks aligning with operational goals and schedules efficiently.
- Prepare and inspect USAF fuel equipment for transportation via air, land, or sea.
- Maintain exemplary safety standards and cleanliness within the working environment.
- Ensure all tools and equipment remain functional, accounted for, and securely stored.
- Handle storage and disposal of hazardous materials following Amentum's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Perform research on repair parts to request only those necessary and verify their local availability.
- Inspect, test, repair, and maintain electrical systems of fuel-related equipment, utilizing wiring schematics, test instruments, and specialized tools.
- Service and fix air conditioning systems on equipment.
- Manage storage of batteries and related supplies, including charged and dry batteries, electrolyte, and terminals, maintaining stock per PWS and supervisory instructions.
- Complete work orders accurately and promptly.
- Conduct quality assurance inspections on all vehicle repairs.
- Return all unserviceable and surplus repair parts to the supply facility.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot fuel support assets as required.
- Undertake Temporary Duty (TDY) within the Area of Responsibility (AOR) per USAF and Amentum directives.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Work in shop or warehouse settings and outdoors for extended periods when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent organizational skills and customer service orientation.
- Intermediate proficiency in English including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
- Ability to interpret and understand all necessary technical publications.
- Competent in using personal computers with Windows OS and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Aptitude for collaborating effectively in culturally diverse teams.
- Possession of a valid driver's license from home country and capability to obtain a host nation license.
- Potential requirement to operate material handling equipment and military vehicles ranging from light to heavy.
- High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- At least five years of experience as a Fuels Technician.
- Tolerance for exposure to loud noise from operating machinery.
- Compliance with necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage based on task requirements.
- Physical ability to perform required duties including lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds with extensive equipment handling.
- Willingness and ability to travel both within the country and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Four years of supervisory experience is preferred.
- Formal education or training in refueling maintenance is advantageous.
- Experience managing a diverse international workforce is desirable.
