Feed Mill Worker - 1st Shift - Fairmount, GA (Bolivar Feed Mill)

Job Overview

This role involves entry-level labor duties within the feed mill, focusing on maintaining cleanliness and operational efficiency. Tasks include cleaning mill areas, grounds upkeep, assisting with ingredient receiving, and following strict safety and company protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Sweep and clean designated mill areas and complete required sign-off procedures.
• Assist with unloading activities, including rail cars and trucks carrying ingredients.
• Clean up feed spills promptly to maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Perform groundskeeping tasks using equipment like mowers and trimmers.
• Operate and maintain air-driven tools such as blow guns to aid in cleaning.
• Use high-pressure hoses to wash down various mill sections effectively.
• Operate powered industrial trucks (PIT) to move pallets of ingredients safely.
• Comply with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, including mandatory ear protection.
• Work in various environmental conditions including hot, dry, dusty, wet, or cold settings with exposure to ingredient dust and weather elements.
• Be flexible to work holidays, weekends, and varied hours according to demand schedules.
• Perform tasks in elevated areas while strictly observing safety procedures.
• Adhere to company biosecurity guidelines, including avoiding contact with avian species.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards in work and service areas.
• Communicate effectively with operations personnel, customers, and vendors, both verbally and in writing when necessary.
• Follow all Tyson health and safety protocols during all job activities.
• Lift up to 60 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with assistance as required.
• Maintain physical stamina to stand, sit, walk, and climb ladders or stairs throughout the workday.
• Execute additional duties assigned by management as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly pay rate is $17.05. Employees receive paid time off, 401(k) plans, affordable health, life, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits starting day one. Additional benefits include a Stock Purchase Plan, company-paid life insurance, long-term and short-term disability coverage.
