Job description
About the Role
Working as a Food and Beverage Support Expert is much more than serving meals to guests; it involves crafting a memorable and unique dining experience. These hospitality professionals proactively deliver a broad range of services to enhance guest enjoyment, from setting tables, assisting in kitchen operations, keeping work areas clean, to restocking supplies. Their efforts ensure that every facet of guest service contributes positively to the overall experience.
Key Responsibilities and Work Environment
Regardless of the specific duty assigned, success depends on several core elements: maintaining a safe workplace, adhering to company policies and procedures, upholding quality standards, and ensuring a professional appearance and communication. The role requires constant movement, including standing, sitting, walking on varied surfaces (sometimes uneven or slippery), reading and verifying menu details, and performing various physical tasks such as lifting, moving, pushing, or placing objects weighing less than 50 pounds without assistance. Reaching high places, bending knees, twisting, stretching, and stooping are also typical movements. Performing these tasks well, alongside other reasonable requests, is essential for guest satisfaction and smooth hotel operation.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certification is preferred.
- Experience: Prior work in food service environments is appreciated but not mandatory.
- Supervisory Experience: No supervision experience is required.
- Licenses/Certifications: None required.
Commitment to Diversity and Well-being
The employer values equal opportunity and inclusivity, striving to create a welcoming workplace that respects and celebrates diverse backgrounds and experiences. There is a strong commitment to non-discrimination on the grounds of disability, veteran status, or other legally protected characteristics.
Aligned with the Westin brand mission, the company encourages employees to embrace wellness practices both at work and in life. Ideal candidates are passionate, active, optimistic, and health-conscious, ready to deliver exceptional service and become their best selves within a global team.
