About the Role

We are searching for a skilled Faculty Development Manager to oversee professional growth initiatives for faculty, enhance teaching quality, promote instructional innovations, and foster academic capabilities. Positioned remotely in the United Arab Emirates, this full-time role focuses on designing and managing comprehensive programs that improve faculty expertise in teaching, curriculum design, assessment strategies, educational technologies, student involvement, academic leadership, and evidence-based educational practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a faculty development strategy aligned with the institution's academic goals.
  • Carry out assessments to identify faculty professional development needs across different academic fields and career phases.
  • Design and maintain annual faculty development frameworks addressing teaching, assessment, curriculum, technology, research, leadership, and academic practices.
  • Develop various learning formats including workshops, seminars, webinars, coaching sessions, learning communities, and resource materials.
  • Organize onboarding and orientation sessions for incoming faculty members.
  • Establish customized professional growth pathways for faculty at early, mid, senior, and leadership levels.
  • Advise on effective teaching approaches, active learning strategies, student engagement techniques, and inclusive education methods.
  • Assist faculty in creating well-structured courses with effective learning activities, assessments, and resources.
  • Work collaboratively with Curriculum and Assessment teams to align learning outcomes with teaching and evaluation methods.
  • Promote teaching backed by research and encourage incorporation of educational studies into instructional decisions.
  • Support adoption of blended, online, hybrid, and technology-enriched teaching practices.
  • Provide training on learning management systems, digital tools, virtual classroom platforms, educational technology, and emerging teaching technologies.
  • Identify and implement effective uses of AI and other emerging technologies to enhance educational delivery.
  • Create faculty communities of practice centered on teaching innovations, assessment, curriculum, student success, and academic leadership.
  • Coordinate initiatives such as peer learning, peer observation, mentoring, coaching, and review of teaching practices.
  • Produce resources, guidelines, toolkits, templates, and reference materials to bolster faculty effectiveness.
  • Support design of accessible and inclusive academic experiences for diverse learners.
  • Advocate universal design principles and accessibility standards within teaching and course creation.
  • Manage faculty development related to academic integrity, quality assessment, student well-being, and support services.
  • Develop leadership training programs for faculty assuming academic administrative roles.
  • Encourage faculty research and scholarship in teaching aligned with institutional priorities.
  • Establish collaborations with universities, educational bodies, professional organizations, and experts.
  • Invite external trainers, speakers, and consultants for faculty development activities.
  • Handle logistics for faculty development events, including scheduling, registration, communication, materials, and venue arrangements.
  • Create and maintain yearly faculty development calendars ensuring efficient program delivery.
  • Oversee budgets, resources, vendors, consultants, and service providers connected to faculty development.
  • Track and report participation, completion rates, engagement levels, and satisfaction metrics for development programs.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness using surveys, participation data, faculty feedback, learning outcomes, and other performance indicators.
  • Develop dashboards and reports showing faculty development statistics and improvement priorities.
  • Identify and tackle participation barriers to enhance accessibility and faculty engagement.
  • Coordinate with academic leadership to embed faculty development objectives within departmental and institutional strategies.
  • Maintain thorough records of faculty participation, certifications, and professional learning accomplishments.
  • Set quality benchmarks for development content, facilitators, delivery methods, and learning resources.
  • Compare faculty development practices with those at leading higher education institutions and professional standards.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in pedagogy, academic technology, assessments, student engagement, and faculty learning.
  • Support accreditation and quality assurance by providing evidence related to faculty development and teaching quality.
  • Regularly review and refine faculty development programs based on feedback and evidence.
  • Design recognition and incentive schemes to motivate faculty participation and teaching innovation.
  • Ensure all development activities comply with institutional policies, academic standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide senior leadership with routine reports on program performance, engagement, outcomes, risks, and future development plans.

Candidate Profile

  • Robust experience in faculty development, instructional design, educational leadership, or academic quality assurance within universities, colleges, or professional education sectors.
  • In-depth understanding of faculty professional growth and higher education teaching methodologies.
  • Proven ability in designing and managing faculty development programs.
  • Strong knowledge of pedagogy, curriculum development, adult learning principles, and assessment.
  • Experience supporting faculty adoption of digital learning and educational technologies.
  • Excellent project and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Effective facilitation, presentation, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating program effectiveness and needs assessment.
