Job description
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Team Manager to lead a specialist team responsible for developing and managing the legal information resources and systems that support judges throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. This permanent position is based at the National Office in Wellington. The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of dependable national services, enhance the use of data and technology, and contribute to strategizing the future offerings of legal information to the judiciary.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development guidance to the specialist team.
- Manage the print and digital legal resource collections and maintain the library catalogue.
- Leverage data and insights to enhance service delivery and demonstrate their impact.
- Oversee budgeting activities including expenditure, invoicing, and accruals.
- Handle supplier relationships and drive improvements to national services.
- Advise on emerging technologies and future directions for information services.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in leading, coaching, and developing teams.
- Possession of a postgraduate qualification in library science or a related discipline.
- Comprehensive knowledge of information resources, management systems, and supplier engagement.
- Competence in budget administration and the ability to translate data into practical decisions.
- Familiarity with te ao Māori and tikanga Māori, especially as they relate to a legal information environment.
- Experience within legal, judicial, governmental, or other complex service settings is advantageous.

Compensation
Salary ranges from $112,766 to $145,388 annually, commensurate with skills and experience.
