About the Role
Shri Lakshmi Steel Suppliers is seeking a seasoned and proactive Facility Manager to supervise the upkeep, safety, security, and effective operation of its manufacturing plant and office premises located in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The chosen candidate will be responsible for ensuring all facilities are maintained to meet statutory regulations while fostering a secure and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance activities for the factory, office buildings, and surrounding areas.
- Plan and manage both preventive and corrective maintenance of facility equipment.
- Ensure continuous operation of essential utilities such as electrical systems, diesel generator sets, water supply, air compressors, HVAC units, and firefighting systems.
- Liaise with external vendors and contractors for services including maintenance, housekeeping, security, and pest control.
- Supervise Annual Maintenance Contracts to guarantee timely service deliveries.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety norms, legal statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify areas where facility improvements can be implemented.
- Maintain detailed records concerning maintenance activities, utility usage, and vendor performance.
- Prepare, track, and manage facility maintenance budgets while controlling operational costs.
- Implement proper waste management in support of environmental and sustainability goals.
- Collaborate with departments such as HR, Administration, and Production to address facility-related needs.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations to resolve facility problems efficiently.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Comprehensive understanding of facility management and building maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and other utility systems.
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations, legal compliance, and workplace safety standards.
- Experience managing vendors and contractors effectively.
- Competence in budgeting and controlling expenses.
- Strong communication skills, leadership qualities, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with SAP or ERP systems is advantageous.
