Facilities Manager

Overview

Nord Anglia Education invites applications for the role of Facilities Manager at Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar. EGA is a new International Baccalaureate (IB) World School offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). This position is integral to ensuring that the school's buildings, grounds, and infrastructure are managed, maintained, and operated effectively to create a secure and supportive environment for teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the school campus, guaranteeing that all facilities are safe, functional, and meet intended purposes.
• Develop and manage scheduled preventative maintenance plans as well as address reactive maintenance needs promptly.
• Coordinate statutory inspections, testing, certifications, and assist during both internal and external audits.
• Manage contractors and service providers on-site, ensuring compliance with safety standards and high-quality workmanship.
• Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of refurbishment and capital improvement projects.
• Maintain comprehensive asset registers, equipment documentation, and maintenance records to facilitate efficient lifecycle management.
• Contribute to managing facilities budgets and procurement, seeking opportunities to optimize cost efficiency.
• Provide logistical facilities support during school activities, examinations and in emergency situations.

Candidate Requirements

• A degree, diploma, or equivalent certification in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
• Proven experience overseeing facilities operations within complex organizational settings.
• Proficient in managing maintenance schedules and contractor coordination.
• Solid knowledge of building upkeep, statutory compliance regulations, and general facilities management practices.
• Strong organizational, communication, and IT capabilities.
• Certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facility Management Professional (FMP) are preferable.
• Additional credentials like NEBOSH, IOSH, or project management qualifications (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2) are advantageous.
• Previous experience in educational institutions or within the GCC region is desirable but not mandatory.
