Facilities Maintenance Operative

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Operative to join our team at the River Island site in Milton Keynes. This role suits a hands-on individual experienced in maintenance, plumbing, and facilities work who thrives in a dynamic environment where each day presents new challenges. The position focuses on executing planned preventative maintenance on schedule to a high standard, excluding electrical work unless qualified under the 18th edition wiring regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled planned maintenance tasks to required standards.
• Perform plumbing repairs and minor electrical tasks such as wiring and lighting upkeep.
• Assist with site infrastructure projects, including digging footings and relocating equipment.
• Maintain material handling equipment (MHE) to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rotation following probation and training (1 week in 3).

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Experience in plumbing or general/facilities maintenance.
• Possession of Level 2 qualifications in a relevant maintenance field; Level 3 preferred.
• Knowledge of COSHH, LOLER, and PUWER regulations.
• IOSH Managing Safely certification.
• A proactive mindset with enthusiasm to acquire new skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
• Full, clean driving license and flexibility to participate in on-call duties.

Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time role working Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00, with additional on-call responsibilities for urgent site issues. The role is based onsite at Milton Keynes.
