Fabric Technician

About the Role

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions invites applications for the position of Fabric Technician at Bluewater Shopping Center, Dartford, Kent. This role operates primarily from Monday to Friday with shift hours from 5 am to 2 pm, designed to ensure completion of necessary tasks ahead of the center opening. Additional overtime opportunities are available.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests within the team.
• Ensure all maintenance duties are fulfilled within designated timelines.
• Maintain clear communication with client representatives regarding repair and maintenance activities.
• Conduct site surveys and produce necessary documentation such as Works Requests, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments for planned operations.
• Perform repairs on both internal and external floor and wall coverings.
• Carry out basic carpentry tasks, dry lining repairs, painting, and tiling.
• Manage responsibilities for all interior and exterior painting tasks.
• Undertake varied building and installation work as required.
• Use Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) technology for task management and communications.
• Complete reactive, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) jobs, and minor project work timely.
• Follow all Health and Safety regulations while performing tasks.
• Carry out other reasonable tasks assigned by the Technical Services Manager.
• Adopt a proactive and dynamic approach to task management within your competencies.

Requirements

• Prior experience in fabric maintenance, carpentry, or civil works.
• Background working within high-profile environments.
• Possession of a current UK full clean driving license is required.
• Proficiency with computers and basic IT tools.
• Strong customer relationship and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, instructions, and processes.
• Self-organized with the ability to manage assigned tasks and estimate material needs.
• Familiarity with Health & Safety protocols including COSHH, Working at Heights, and Risk Assessment.
