Key Responsibilities
- Understand and manage the extrusion process, including operation of extruder and auxiliary machinery.
- Diagnose and resolve process and machine issues to ensure production of quality products.
- Operate or learn to operate extruder machines, preparing and verifying production materials.
- Maintain machine cleanliness following 6S standards, including managing plastic scrap disposal.
- Set up extrusion lines as per assigned equipment and conduct measurements on extruded tubing to ensure conformity with specifications, making necessary adjustments.
- Store and package tubings appropriately for further processing.
- Monitor production line to detect and address any potential defects or operational issues.
- Take over machine during breaks, manage scrap disposal, and collect samples for measurement using calibrated instruments, entering data electronically.
- Adhere proactively to Environmental Health & Safety protocols, cGMP, and other compliance requirements.
- Assume ownership of equipment and tools during use, update production records timely, including Pitch Chart, OEE, MAR QDA & A&P.
- Support planned activities such as quarterly cleaning and shutdown procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent qualification.
- Prior experience in extrusion or plastics processing preferred.
- Familiarity with basic computer operations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrate a high sense of urgency by escalating potential safety, process, or quality concerns promptly.
- Competent in handling basic measuring instruments like vernier calipers, dial indicators, and optical comparators.
- Skilled in troubleshooting extrusion processes and equipment.
