About The Role

As an Experience Designer, you will play a vital role in shaping our Tumu design system and crafting engaging experiences for our customers. This permanent, full-time position is based in Wellington or Auckland, with a 37.5-hour workweek.

Daily Activities

• Work closely with designers, developers, and product managers to collect requirements and translate them into reusable components and design guidelines.
• Assist in developing and maintaining a robust design system aligned with ANZ’s standards.
• Contribute your UX and UI design expertise to various digital projects.
• Create and deliver high-quality, consistent design deliverables aligning with the digital design strategy.
• Support delivery teams by providing necessary design assets, specifications, and quality assurance.
• Promote design thinking by integrating customer insights and data into decision-making.
• Champion inclusive design practices, with a strong emphasis on accessibility across all projects.

Skills and Experience We Seek

• A solid understanding of all facets of UX/UI design and design thinking methodologies.
• Proven experience in user experience and user interface design tasks.
• Familiarity with design systems applied to native mobile platforms (iOS & Android) and responsive web designs.
• Expertise in user interface design, visual design, prototyping, interaction design, usability testing, ideation, and insights analysis.
• Knowledge of component-based design systems that comply with platform-specific conventions for mobile and web.
• Strong commitment to inclusive design with a focus on digital accessibility standards.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to automate and improve design system workflows, enhancing quality and efficiency.
• Proficiency with design software such as Figma, FigJam, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar tools, while staying adaptable to emerging trends and technologies.
• Good understanding of web and mobile technologies.
• Strong project planning, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to advocate for design ideas effectively.
• A motivated, proactive individual with a positive work ethic and growth mindset.
