About the Role
This role manages daily shift operations within Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and potentially Laundry departments. The Executive Housekeeper leads staff efforts to maintain cleanliness and upkeep across guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas. Duties encompass inspections, accountability enforcement, and supporting guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to budget constraints.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure timely communication of guest room statuses to Front Desk.
- Collaborate efficiently with Engineering to address guestroom maintenance requirements.
- Oversee the general cleaning schedule across the property.
- Prioritize cleaning assignments based on immediate needs and upcoming check-outs or discharges.
- Maintain inventory levels to guarantee sufficient supply stock.
- Supervise daily Housekeeping shift activities, ensuring compliance with all policies and standards.
- Assist with ordering guestroom supplies, cleaning agents, and employee uniforms.
- Lead inspection programs for guestrooms and public areas, communicating areas requiring attention.
- Ensure employees have necessary supplies, equipment, and uniforms for their duties.
- Manage departmental controllable costs with the objective to meet or exceed budget goals.
- Interpret financial documents like budgets and payroll reports to assist in fiscal management.
- Address guest complaints promptly and strive to enhance service quality.
- Empower staff to deliver superior customer service and emphasize guest satisfaction continuously.
- Participate in investigating employee accidents and supervise staffing to balance service needs and financial objectives.
- Ensure clear communication of employee expectations and consistent policy enforcement, including disciplinary actions.
- Observe and provide feedback on employees' service behaviors.
- Use training tools to onboard and train new room attendants and conduct follow-up training as needed.
- Contribute to performance appraisals and assist in hiring processes to recruit qualified team members.
- Support new hire orientation to equip employees for successful job performance.
- Engage in progressive disciplinary processes when necessary.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a high school diploma or GED plus a minimum of 2 years in housekeeping or a related professional field, OR
- Hold a 2-year degree from an accredited institution in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related discipline with no prior work experience required.
