About the Role
HEH Civil is currently looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to become a part of their Far North Queensland operations team. The role involves operating excavators on various civil infrastructure projects. Having experience with other types of construction machinery is highly beneficial. The position offers a collaborative environment focused on safety, accuracy, and professionalism.
Primary Responsibilities
- Handle excavation equipment for trench creation, bulk earthmoving, detailed digging, and final grading tasks.
- Operate carefully around existing utilities, maintain correct levels, and navigate site restrictions safely.
- Use additional machinery such as compactors, loaders, and trucks when certified and experienced.
- Assist pipe installation teams and contribute to general civil construction tasks as needed.
- Conduct daily equipment pre-start inspections and routine maintenance checks; promptly report any operational faults or risks.
- Adhere to site plans, follow specified levels, and comply with supervisor guidance.
- Engage actively with the team to achieve project goals and adhere to schedules.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid Construction White Card.
- Experience with GPS or laser-guided excavation systems.
- Preferably experienced in handling other types of construction plant machinery.
- Priority given to those holding a Heavy Rigid (HR) vehicle licence.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and dependable work habits.
- Current driver’s licence with dependable personal transport.
