About the Role

A reputable engineering firm is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team based in Blaenavon, Wales. This permanent, full-time position involves preparing precise cost estimates and quotations, managing client queries, and supporting the company's growth initiatives. A key focus will be leading the development of the spare parts sales division, fostering client relationships, and discovering new revenue streams.

The role is centered within a specialized engineering setting, servicing projects internationally, including markets in the Middle East.

Core Responsibilities

• Create accurate quotations and cost projections for engineering projects.
• Assess customer requirements and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with clients, suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams to develop competitive proposals.
• Follow up on submitted quotations and nurture strong customer relations.
• Lead the expansion of the spare parts sales sector.
• Spot opportunities for repeat sales and upselling products and services.
• Maintain thorough records of quotations and sales activities through internal systems.
• Assist the broader commercial team in meeting sales objectives.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven background in estimating, quotation preparation, internal sales, sales engineering, or commercial engineering roles.
• Experience generating quotes within engineering or manufacturing sectors.
• Demonstrated commercial insight and excellent customer service abilities.
• Capability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication plus negotiation aptitude.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and adept at handling multiple projects concurrently.
