Role Overview

The Estimator is responsible for calculating project cost estimates accurately and competitively, facilitating the preparation of quotations and tenders following enquiries. This involves prompt receipt and thorough assessment of enquiries using our dedicated estimation tools.

Responsibilities

• Managing contract enquiries, devising prompt action plans to price assigned enquiries within deadlines.
• Engaging with clients to clarify project scope, ensuring quoting accuracy matches client specifications.
• Overseeing the entire tender process including site inspections and conducting meetings with the tender committee.
• Requesting quotes from the supply chain, selecting optimal suppliers or manufacturing sources to secure best pricing.
• Collaborating with internal teams to develop schedules and produce high-quality submissions in line with enquiry demands.
• Evaluating supply chain quotations, negotiating costs based on raw material prices and manufacturing rates across regions, while examining terms against standard tender practices.
• Compiling detailed tender analysis reports for internal review and client presentations.
• Establishing cost details for contract reviews and preparing mark-up analysis for tender evaluation meetings.
• Confirming tender summary sign-offs per company procedures and tracking bids, attending related client meetings.
• Conducting detailed review of enquiry documents such as contracts, specifications, drawings, and bills of materials to identify risks, opportunities, and discrepancies.
• Participating in project handover sessions with operational and commercial teams, delivering necessary information to ensure project continuity.
• Utilizing knowledge of the Qatar market to enhance and diversify the supply chain, reducing overdependence on existing vendors.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in estimating for fit-out projects, preferably within Qatar.
• Educational background in B.Tech, B.E., or Diploma.
• Familiarity with the complete tender process and expertise in value engineering.
• Skilled in trade comparison analyses.
• Proficient with IT tools, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong prioritization skills to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
• Effective communication abilities in both written and spoken business English.
