Job description

Role Overview

Monadelphous is looking to add a meticulous and skilled Estimator to our RTW Fabrication Team located in Capel, Western Australia. This full-time position, operating Monday to Friday, offers a stable job environment promoting work-life balance in the South West region. Preference will be given to candidates residing locally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert estimating guidance for major tenders, proposals, and expressions of interest within the division.
  • Accurately interpret drawings, specifications, material lists, and project documents to assess quantities, materials, labor, plant, and associated costs.
  • Develop execution plans and scheduling methodologies.
  • Analyze both qualitative and quantitative data inputs for tender submissions.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of tenders and proposals focusing on quality, risk assessment, accuracy, and completeness, addressing issues promptly.
  • Identify ambiguities, risks, and critical issues within tender documentation.

Candidate Profile

  • Proficient in reading and understanding structural steel, piping, fabrication, and piping isometric (ISO) drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of structural steel detailing, fabrication needs, materials, dimensions, weld symbols, connections, and tolerances.
  • Able to detect discrepancies, omissions, and potential construction or fabrication challenges within project drawings and documentation.
  • Solid grasp of fabrication and construction methods and their application in precise project estimations.
  • Excellent communication skills paired with a cooperative and team-oriented mindset, fostering relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Methodical, detail-focused, and accountable for producing high-quality and accurate work.
  • Good understanding of various trades and disciplines relevant to site and project operations.
  • Experience leveraging site insights to optimize daily tasks with an emphasis on innovation and continual improvement.
  • Basic knowledge of Contract Law to correctly interpret tender-related materials.
  • Some experience in subcontractor engagement and management.
