Estimator - Metal Fabrication

Job Overview

This role as a Metal Fabrication Estimator is situated in Amelia, OH, focusing on producing cost quotations for metal fabrication, powder coating, and wet coating projects. The estimator works by examining Requests for Quote (RFQs), technical drawings, and detailed project specifications.

Primary Duties

• Design and implement estimation strategies to optimize the quoting process.
• Analyze and interpret design packages including technical drawings and specifications.
• Assess and mitigate financial risks associated with project estimates.
• Determine material needs, fabrication and finishing processes, and time requirements using ERP systems such as Paperless Parts and ECI JobBOSS along with approved hourly rates based on project documentation.
• Collaborate with Procurement to gather and confirm material pricing.
• Partner with Engineering teams to enhance material utilization and manufacturing methods.
• Coordinate with Production Departments to explore fabrication and finishing options.
• Maintain and track quality, timeliness, and success rates of estimates delivered to clients.
• Evaluate and suggest revisions to work center rate structures.
• Continuously review job costing data to validate estimate accuracy and refine estimating procedures.
• Seek input from Production Departments to boost estimate accuracy.
• Create specialized reports by aggregating and analyzing relevant data and market trends.
• Support Sales and other departmental functions as needed, contributing to overall team objectives.
• Monitor key performance indicators and metrics for self and company-wide improvements on a daily basis.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual Salary Range: $65,000 to $70,000
