About the Role

Baltic Recruitment is pleased to collaborate with Express Engineering, a prominent Oil & Gas equipment manufacturer located in the North East, to recruit an experienced Estimator. This position supports new business growth by preparing cost estimates and pricing quotations and involves direct customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create manufacturing cost estimates and pricing bids for prospective projects.
  • Analyze customer tender documentation and related specifications thoroughly.
  • Develop detailed costing documents and define work scopes.
  • Support the sales team with provision of precise cost and technical information.
  • Contribute significantly to strategic tender preparation processes.
  • Oversee complete responses to quotations, including drafting schedules, addressing terms and conditions, and preparing pricing proposals.
  • Communicate directly with clients to manage quotation requests efficiently within set deadlines.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in precision engineering or welding, preferably within subsea oil & gas, industrial gas turbines, nuclear, or defence sectors.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and cycle times; engineering qualifications or equivalent hands-on expertise valued.
  • Proficiency in translating manufacturing cycle time data into cost estimates using an estimating system.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to build and sustain professional relationships.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within required timelines.
  • Comfortable in customer-facing situations to discuss and finalize potential orders.
