Role Overview

As an Estimator, you will be pivotal in acquiring new contracts for the Sydney branch by crafting precise, commercially sound tenders and fee proposals. Embedded within the pre-construction team, your role involves synthesizing market intelligence, technical data, and robust subcontractor relationships to support bids across various projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine drawings, specifications, and reports to comprehend project scope, buildability, and strategy.
• Compile quantity take-offs, tender estimates, and write qualifications.
• Perform site inspections and manage subcontractor quotation requests.
• Evaluate subcontractor bids and recommend appropriate selections.
• Contribute to tender strategy sessions, bid planning, and methods to enhance profitability.
• Keep detailed tender documentation, project status updates, and maintain relevant databases.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates are commercially astute, well-organized, and adept at managing details alongside deadlines. Collaborative problem-solving, relationship-building, and converting thorough bids into successful projects define your approach.

• Experience in estimating or quantity surveying, preferably within fitout and refurbishment sectors.
• Educational background including a building-related degree, diploma, or trade certification.
• Solid knowledge of construction trades, services, and principles of measurement.
• Ability to interpret specifications and drawings for accuracy and constructability confidently.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and project management systems.
• A team-oriented mindset with confidence in fostering trusted relationships.
• Positive attitude with accountability and dedication to safety and quality standards.
