Estimator - Joinery

Role Overview

We are hiring a skilled Estimator with a focus on joinery to join our expanding projects team. The ideal candidate will be commercially astute and experienced in delivering precise and competitive cost assessments.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, with flexible start times provided the total 40-hour workweek is maintained.

Key Duties

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and tender documentation thoroughly.
• Calculate detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, and subcontracted work.
• Source and assess supplier and subcontractor quotes accurately.
• Compile precise and competitive tender proposals.
• Identify risks, opportunities to reduce costs, and options for value engineering.
• Coordinate effectively with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Keep detailed records of all estimates, quotes, and relevant project data.
• Provide support through pre-construction phases and project handover.
• Stay informed on market price trends to maintain current cost data.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven estimating experience within construction, fit-out, manufacturing, or similar project-based sectors.
• Strong numerical aptitude and analytical capabilities.
• Competence in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Keen attention to detail in all tasks.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Sound commercial awareness applied to estimating processes.
• Capable of handling multiple tenders simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with estimating or project management software is advantageous.
