About the Role
Join a leading commercial general contracting and construction management firm based in North York, ON, as an Intermediate Estimator. This role involves collaborating with the estimating team to create precise and competitive bids for commercial interior renovation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire process of competitive bidding, including all activities preceding tender submission.
- Source competitive quotes from subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Handle negotiation processes related to subcontractor buyouts.
- Develop comprehensive and accurate bids tailored to commercial tender requirements.
- Maintain project profitability by producing budgets free from errors.
- Engage directly with clients to provide conceptual budget estimates derived from initial sketches, offering consulting insights to transition concepts into viable projects.
- Analyze drawings and specifications, advising clients on alternative materials and methods that could reduce costs.
- Collaborate with operations personnel to formulate initial project schedules.
- Deliver outstanding customer service aimed at fostering repeat business opportunities.
Candidate Qualifications
- Possession of a degree or diploma in a construction-related field, or an equivalent level of practical experience.
- Minimum of three years' experience within the commercial construction sector.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and experienced with various estimating software platforms.
- Excellent communication and organizational capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of building systems and the ability to read and interpret construction drawings across multiple disciplines.
Compensation
Annual remuneration ranges between $90,000 and $130,000, contingent upon individual experience and qualifications.
