Role Overview

The Electrical Estimator role is crucial to the company’s expansion, focusing on retail and commercial sectors for both new construction and remodeling efforts.

Work Schedule and Location

• Full-time position operating on-site
• Based in Justin, TX or Alpharetta, GA
• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Relocation support available if necessary
• Travel requirements estimated between 0% and 25%

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize Accubid Anywhere software for digital takeoff processes
• Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients and vendors
• Analyze project plans, schedules, specifications, and bid documents to prepare comprehensive estimates
• Manage time effectively to consistently meet deadlines
• Prepare detailed proposals and engage with clients after bidding for accurate award forecasts
• Participate in pre-bid meetings to fully understand project scopes despite sometimes limited information
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain quotations for bid packages
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors regarding estimate adjustments
• Verify accuracy of vendor materials lists and subcontractor scope documents
• Prepare change order estimates on awarded projects
• Work collaboratively with other estimators and departments across the company
• Join estimating and sales meetings to review bid progress and resolve issues
• Lead project handoff meetings and coordinate with field operations from bid award through project closeout
• Evaluate bids and suggest cost-saving value engineering opportunities
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to junior estimators and collaborate well with all team members

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience estimating commercial electrical projects focused on new construction and remodels
• Strong communication skills with diverse stakeholders including customers, vendors, subcontractors, and general contractors
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness in estimations
• Proficient in Accubid software; training offered for Accubid Anywhere if needed
• Comprehensive understanding of commercial electrical field, associated materials, and construction techniques
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Word, and comfortable with spreadsheet and digital takeoff software
• Knowledgeable about national, state, and local electrical codes
• Ability to create accurate, timely, and competitive estimates from bid documentation
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle competing priorities effectively

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on experience with Accubid Anywhere
• Background performing electrician duties in the field

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary range between $115,000 and $150,000
