Estimator

Overview

The Estimator role, reporting to the Estimating Manager at D. Crupi & Sons Limited, focuses on enhancing the profitability of the Crupi Group through meticulous estimation, bidding, and oversight of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate precise and competitive cost estimates by applying efficient construction methods and selecting trustworthy subcontractors and suppliers.
• Keep abreast of the construction market to identify optimal projects aligned with the Crupi Group's expertise.
• Prepare comprehensive final bids collaboratively with the Estimating Manager.
• Engage regularly with general contractors, consultants, municipal engineers, and construction management firms to pursue tender opportunities and negotiate contracts.
• Administer awarded projects including bonding, insurance, scheduling, permits, subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and job costing, primarily for ICI, Sub-Municipal, and Sub-Division projects.
• Oversee assigned contracts through site meetings, pricing extra work, coordinating schedules, resolving disputes, invoicing, collections, accruals, and supporting construction measurement tasks.
• Conduct analysis comparing project actuals to bids and evaluate cost and profit metrics.
• Provide technical support to Project Managers as needed.
• Adhere to and champion Health and Safety policies and objectives.
• Occasionally perform Project Management responsibilities as required.

Candidate Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years in a comparable Estimator role.
• Background in the construction industry preferred, with emphasis on road construction experience.
• Experience with ICI projects favored.
• Familiarity with BID2WIN software is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Certification as an Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) is desirable but not obligatory.
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Personable demeanor with aptitude for cultivating client relationships.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
• Proficient computer skills essential.
• Possession of a valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle to conduct onsite visits.

Compensation and Additional Information

Salary range is CAD 70,000 to 110,000 annually. The company values all applications but will contact only selected candidates. Accommodations can be provided during the selection process upon request.
