Energy Solutions Team

This team spearheads Ampol's initiatives in the energy transition by devising lower carbon solutions, including EV charging, hydrogen, carbon offsets, and biofuels. Their multidisciplinary approach focuses on integrating bold ideas with practical execution to facilitate a sustainable future.

Role Overview

We seek an Estimator to help advance the Private Charging segment by producing precise, competitive, and commercially viable cost estimates for projects such as fleet electrification and commercial EV charging installations. The role requires collaboration with deployment, engineering, procurement, commercial, and business development teams to convert technical needs into effective pricing models while assessing contractor submissions and enhancing estimating methods.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed cost estimates and pricing proposals derived from customer requirements, technical drawings, and project scopes.
• Develop pricing frameworks, cost analyses, and supporting documents for bids and customer submissions.
• Coordinate with multiple internal teams to confirm project scope, risks, schedules, and cost factors.
• Analyze supplier and contractor quotes to ensure competitiveness and market alignment.
• Update and improve estimating tools, pricing databases, and unit cost schedules for greater efficiency and accuracy.
• Contribute to budget planning, forecasting, and commercial assessments of strategic sale opportunities.
• Assist business development with requests for information, clarifications, and pricing inquiries.
• Facilitate seamless transitions of projects from sales teams to delivery groups.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience in preparing estimates for electrical infrastructure, construction, utilities, renewable energy, or related project environments.
• In-depth knowledge of contractor, supplier, and subcontractor pricing methodologies.
• Competency in interpreting technical documents such as specifications, construction drawings, and scope statements.
• Commercial acumen with experience in budget development, cost modeling, and tender preparation.
• Advanced skills in Excel with strong analytical aptitude.
• Effective stakeholder engagement capabilities across cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Preferred experience in EV charging, renewable energy, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
