About the Role

Joubert Pilat Ltd is seeking a knowledgeable Estimator to join their East Auckland team, specializing in pricing civil infrastructure projects throughout New Zealand. The ideal candidate will translate drawings, specifications, and hands-on construction experience into precise and competitive tender submissions. Attention to detail, proactive query resolution, and producing accurate site-proof pricing are key expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyzing tender documents, construction drawings, and specifications thoroughly
• Conducting quantity take-offs and assembling detailed cost build-ups and estimates
• Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Formulating labour, equipment, and material pricing rates
• Recognizing project risks and potential opportunities to improve delivery methods
• Collaborating on construction methodologies, scheduling, and project staging

Required Skills and Experience

• Prior experience estimating within civil construction projects
• Solid understanding of construction techniques and associated costs
• Familiarity with the New Zealand civil infrastructure sector
• Strong commercial insight paired with meticulous attention to detail
• Capability to handle multiple tender submissions simultaneously under tight deadlines
• Effective communication with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal project teams
