About the Role

Fit Recruiting is looking for a skilled Estimator to join a reputable manufacturing company located in Daphne, AL. This permanent position offers a competitive salary ranging from $50,000 to $75,000 annually based on experience, as well as company growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing for both custom-fabricated and standard products.
• Examine engineering drawings, specifications, request for quotations (RFQs), and project outlines to understand scope and requirements.
• Assess material, labor, and production needs to develop precise and competitive pricing proposals.
• Maintain and update cost databases, pricing records, and estimating files utilizing Excel and ERP software.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Production teams to clarify project details, verify feasibility, and confirm delivery timelines.
• Ensure RFQs are complete by following up with clients or internal departments to gather missing information.
• Monitor quote-to-order conversion rates and assist in improving estimations and related processes.
• Support development of special pricing requests, bid submissions, and project-specific estimates when required.
• Handle multiple quotation projects and deadlines while ensuring high accuracy standards.
• Communicate effectively within teams to guarantee timely and thorough estimates.

Qualifications

• Three to five or more years’ experience as an Estimator in manufacturing, fabrication, or construction sectors.
• Proven ability to estimate from engineering drawings, specifications, or defined scopes of work.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Proficiency with ERP-based estimating or costing systems; familiarity with Prophet 21 (P21) is advantageous.
• Capability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
• Strong analytical thinking, organizational aptitude, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience managing several projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Rigorous attention to detail and precision in work.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication, electrical/instrumentation support products, or industrial construction is considered a plus.
