About the Company
A prominent contractor based in Qatar is seeking to connect with seasoned professionals interested in advancing their careers in construction management.
Role Overview
This role demands significant experience with international prime contractors operating within the GCC and global markets. Candidates should have proven success managing complex projects with minimum values of USD 200 million across a variety of sectors like airports, railways, bridges, data centres, luxury 5-star hotels and residences, commercial high-rise towers exceeding 50 stories, ports, and military facilities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and code Bills of Quantities (BOQs) using CCS, conduct precise quantity take-offs, compile BOQs, develop specialized Request for Quotation (RFQ) packages including specifications, drawings, BOQs, and contracts, coordinating closely with the contracts department to ensure compliance with fixed-price lump sum and escalation terms.
- Be responsible for creating detailed combined technical and commercial comparison tables; engage with subcontractors to verify methods, sequences, and program adherence; ensure conformity with scope of work, specifications, contracts, and appropriate pricing for plant and equipment; coordinate logistics such as laydown and work yard areas with other disciplines.
- Manage and assure that technical, contractual, legal, and commercial performance meets company policies and tender deadlines.
- Enhance tender team productivity and retention, formulate and implement strategies to secure bids successfully; deliver weekly tender progress reports to the Board of Directors (BOD); lead final evaluation meetings with the tender committee; meet key performance indicators related to cost per square meter and unit rates; and optimize profit margins on winning bids.
- Meticulously compile all tender information, including detailed notes and comments on documentation encompassing direct and indirect costs, risks, overheads, profits, escalation, finance, taxes, and related factors.
- Organize and submit tenders both online and physically to the clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a university accredited in the US or UK.
Required Experience & Expertise
- Substantial experience working with international prime contractors in GCC and worldwide markets on large-scale projects worth at least USD 200 million.
- Demonstrated proficiency across diverse sectors including transportation infrastructure, luxury hotels, commercial high-rises, ports, and military infrastructure.
- Proven capability with leading international construction firms in the Middle East and globally, managing complex, high-value projects effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experienced in delivering weekly tender reports to senior leadership and conducting final tender review sessions with committees.
- Proven ability to meet KPIs for cost efficiency (cost per sq meter, unit rates) and enhance winning margins.
