Estimation Engineer

Overview

Skyline Infraworld Pvt. Ltd., based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, is seeking a seasoned Estimation Engineer with experience in architectural, building, construction, and infrastructure projects. The role involves managing estimation tasks both before and after tender submissions.

Key Duties

• Develop detailed cost projections, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and quantity take-offs from architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Conduct thorough pre-tender estimation which includes quantity calculations, BOQ creation, analyzing rates, cost estimation, making abstract estimates, reviewing drawings and specifications, and identifying any scope gaps or discrepancies.
• Manage post-tender commercial processes such as reviewing contractor quotations, preparing comparative analyses, evaluating rates, assisting in negotiations, analyzing changes and deviations, and assessing financial impacts of design or scope modifications.
• Interpret various project drawings meticulously to ensure precision in quantity calculations.
• Apply standards like CPWD, PWD, DSR, SOR, alongside market rates for preparing estimates.
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, project managers, contractors, and tender teams for clarifications regarding quantities, specifications, and scopes.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for all estimates, BOQs, quotations, and tender-related documents.
• Support management and project teams in cost planning, budgeting, tendering processes, and making commercial decisions.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (B.E. or B.Tech) or equivalent.
• 3 to 7 years of professional experience specifically in estimation and quantity surveying.
• Preferred background includes experience with architecture firms, architectural consultancy services, construction companies, infrastructure consultancies, or project management consultancies (PMC).

Required Skills

• Expertise in pre-tender and post-tender estimation processes.
• Competency in BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, rate analysis, and cost estimation.
• Experience handling tender documentation and evaluating contractor bids.
• Ability to analyze variations and deviations effectively.
• Familiarity with CPWD, PWD, DSR, SOR standards and market rate applications.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of architectural and construction drawings.

Preferred Experience

• Prior involvement with large scale building, institutional, government or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
• Experience predominantly related to interior fit-outs or small residential projects may not meet the job requirements.
