About the Role

Clarity Partners seeks an experienced Estimating Lead to join its expanding civil infrastructure contracting team in Western Australia, focusing on complex projects in water, wastewater, and related civil construction sectors. This senior role centers on ownership of the estimating and tendering activities while directly influencing the company's growth trajectory. Working closely with senior management, the role involves identifying opportunities, crafting commercially viable bids, and enhancing systems and methods to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the estimating and tendering function to uphold high standards and strategic direction in submissions.
  • Evaluate upcoming project opportunities, advising on suitability and commercial feasibility.
  • Formulate competitive pricing models and develop commercially robust tender proposals.
  • Lead tender evaluations, risk analysis, and commercial assessments.
  • Coordinate pricing inputs from suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with operational and project teams, facilitating smooth handover from tender to execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Drive ongoing improvements in estimating systems, processes, tools, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Mentor and develop estimating and project support teams to enhance overall capabilities.
  • Influence strategic business decisions regarding project pursuits, margin management, tender strategies, and organizational growth.

Candidate Profile

  • Experienced in senior estimating, estimating management, or commercial leadership roles.
  • Extensive background in civil construction, infrastructure, utilities, or water-related projects.
  • Strong grasp of tendering, pricing strategies, cost planning, and commercial risk management.
  • Proven track record managing multiple estimating processes or tenders simultaneously.
  • In-depth knowledge of pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Excellent commercial acumen with skill in assessing project risks and opportunities.
  • Effective negotiation abilities and stakeholder relationship management.
  • Capability to build relationships across operational and leadership levels.
  • Proactive in enhancing estimating processes, systems, and team capabilities.
  • Strong leadership qualities with dedication to developing and nurturing high-performing teams.
