Job Overview

Under the guidance of the Assistant Manager - Facility Support Services, the Environmental Services Worker plays a crucial role in maintaining a secure, sanitary, and operational setting for patients, visitors, staff, and families at Valley Regional Hospital within Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Key Duties

• Cleaning assigned areas including patient rooms and communal spaces.
• Performing tasks such as mopping, dusting, vacuuming furniture and floors, buffing and scrubbing floors, refinishing surfaces.
• Moving and arranging furniture, replacing curtains and drapes.
• Operating cleaning equipment like Taski spray buffers, burnishers, auto scrubbers, and shampooers.

Candidate Profile

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent experience.
• Dedication to fostering a culture emphasizing safety, ethical conduct, and organizational wellness.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Willingness and ability to travel to other locations as needed; must have access to a reliable vehicle.
• Competency in additional languages viewed favorably, with preference for French.

Working Hours and Duration

• Temporary full-time assignment, approximately 12 months.
• Scheduled for 75 hours bi-weekly.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly wage between $20.74 and $21.56.
• Eligible for benefits including health, dental, travel insurance, long-term disability, life insurance, and a defined benefit pension plan.
