Role Overview

We seek a detail-focused Enterprise BI Lead to join our Abu Dhabi office and spearhead the transformation and governance of our Business Intelligence systems, specifically centering around Power BI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain certified gold semantic data models on the Group’s data platform, consolidating legacy reports and harmonizing KPI calculations to establish a singular, authoritative data source.
• Establish and uphold Power BI standards for data modeling, DAX coding conventions, report design, naming schemes, documentations, and certification protocols across the Group.
• Supervise Power BI governance aspects such as workspace structures, deployment workflows, security configurations including row-level access, dataset certification processes, and adherence to tenant best practices.
• Produce flagship leadership reports including Group Sales targets versus outcomes, and automate quarterly financial reports detailing revenue, costs, and margins leveraging the gold model.
• Lead migration projects transitioning legacy reports to certified models and eliminate redundant or unreliable reporting mechanisms.
• Drive AI-enabled BI initiatives by incorporating Copilot and natural language query capabilities, applying AI-assisted development techniques in DAX and data modeling, and defining standards for responsible AI usage in reporting.
• Enhance model and report efficiency through query optimization, incremental data refresh methods, use of aggregations, and effective management of capacity.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams on data contract formulation, gold-layer table design, and maintaining data quality for analytical objectives.
• Mentor and guide Senior BI Analysts and Data Analysts by conducting structured reviews to ensure compliance with defined standards.
• Develop the BI hub into a Group-wide Centre of Excellence accommodating new entities with standardized onboarding processes, shared datasets, and collaborative environments.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Power BI suite, encompassing advanced knowledge in DAX, Power Query/M, and enterprise-scale Tabular semantic model design.
• Demonstrable expertise in defining and enforcing BI standards and governance across organizations.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills extending to executive levels, capable of translating business inquiries into certified metrics and advocating for a unified data truth.
• Proactive, results-driven mindset able to bridge capability gaps effectively while maintaining governance integrity.
• Experienced in coaching and technically leading analysts and developers via rigorous quality reviews.
• Familiarity with AI-augmented analytics such as Power BI Copilot and large language model-assisted development, with pragmatic insights into their application and necessary controls.

Experience Requirements

• At least eight years in Business Intelligence or analytics engineering, with a minimum of five years of extensive hands-on experience in Power BI at an enterprise level.
• Track record of owning and developing an enterprise semantic model tailored to diverse audiences ranging from executives to operational staff.
• Strong SQL skills and practical experience working on modern cloud data platforms like Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalents.
• Proven ability implementing Power BI governance in environments involving multiple teams or business units, including deployment pipelines, certification, and security management.
• Experience with AI-supported BI development or embedding AI functionalities into reporting considered highly advantageous.
• Background in financial services or fintech sectors is preferred; direct exposure to leveraged trading or brokerage platforms is a strong plus.
• Degree-level education (BA, BSc, or similar), preferably in a quantitative discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
